People who took the survey should have already received this week’s gems. I will also send this week’s edition to anyone who takes the survey by the end of the week. If you’re new and subscribed after June 12, 2023, just reply, and I’ll share it with you (not ideal, I know, but blame Substack)!
NYC, June 27, 2023 —
What’s more French than a croissant?
A strike.
Or maybe even a croissant on strike?
Who cares?
The Union of Insights Miners voted in favor of a strike (1 yea, 0 nay) following developments of the last two weeks, when most of the Growth Gems readers refused to take a 3-minute feedback survey about the newsletter.
LinkedIn got the news first, and, to our knowledge, this is the first strike from a Substack newsletter writer.
We reached out for comments to Sylvain Gauchet, Chief Insights Miner at GrowthGems.co, visibly upset: “This is unacceptable. I’ve been spending 10+ hours each week mining talks, webinars, and podcasts for gems for three years, and sharing growth insights with the community for FREE. Three years…That’s 1500+ hours!! And readers can’t take 3 minutes of their time to help out?! Enough is enough. Merde!”
“Readers can’t take 3 minutes of their time to help out?! Enough is enough. Merde!”
He continued rambling in French (something about spending more time with his tomatoes or at the beach - we’re not sure) before stating his somewhat vague conditions to resume mining for everyone: that a reasonable percentage of its readers take the damn survey.
The solution seems easy. But who knows when this will end?
